Chargé d'Affaires Mathias Licharz
Mathias Licharz acts as Head of Mission/Chargé d´Affaires of the German Embassy in Yangon since August 2025. Before taking office in Yangon he served at the German Embassy in Beijing/PR China and in Tel Aviv/Israel as well as at the German Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. At the headquarters of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin he assumed various functions in the departments of United Nations Affairs, Geoeconomics and Human Resources. From 2011 to 2018 he was responsible for United Nations Affairs, Development Cooperation, Humanitarian Assistance and Human Rights at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin.
Mathias Licharz is married and father of three.
